Turkish Black Tea Types
Turkish tea is divided two
main groups: manufacturing broken teas and broken teas. Manufacturing
broken teas are prefered and recommended. Some factories used 6 types,
some of them 3 or 4.

Broken Teas:
- OF - Orange
Fannings.
Very thin, golden headed, manufacture
broken tea. 300 - 400 (100 gr/cm3) volume. Water extract 30-36 %
- BOP - Broken Orange Pekoe. Thin,
golden headed and folded tea. 420 -
550 (100
gr/cm3) volume. Water extract 30-35 %
- OP - Orange Pekoe. Rolled tea with
little golden headed 520 - 700
(100
gr/cm3) volume. Water extract 29-35 %
- F - Fannigs. Very thin
broken tea. 300 - 400 (100 gr/cm3) ) volume.
Water
extract 29-34 %
- BOP2 - Broken Orange Pekoe.
Thin rolled broken tea. 400 - 530 (100
gr/cm3)
volume. Water extract 28-35 %
- BP - Orange Pekoe.
Thin rolled broken tea.500 - 640 (100 gr/cm3)
volume.
Water extract 27-33%
- D - Dust
tea. 260 - 310 (100 gr/cm3) volume. Water
extract 30-36 %
